Our History

Pharmtech (Caribbean) Limited (PCL) is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s top pharmaceutical importers/ distributors with over thirty (30) years experience. Our operations were initiated in 1985, with PCL being the sole agency for Mepha Pharmaceuticals (now called Acino Pharma) from Aesch, Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland. We have now expanded our range to include Natrol’s nutraceutical products, among other top quality pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical products from various manufacturers around the world.

From the beginning, Pharmtech (Caribbean) Limited has earned an excellent reputation within the local health care community as being a highly professional and reliable service provider.

The company is known and admired for its consistency and integrity in dealing with customers, and this has led to the development of several long term business relationships. Pharmtech (Caribbean) Limited’s office is located on the south western side of the island in the city of San Fernando. The corporate office and warehouse sit on five acres of prime commercial real estate situated along the South Trunk Road, heading south.

Corporate Structure

Pharmtech (Caribbean) Limited currently employs over forty (40) people who are directly related to the everyday operations of the company. There are an additional six (6) persons who deal with security and maintenance of the property; and a “Core Management Team” consisting of six (6) persons who meet on a weekly basis, chaired by the Chief Executive Officer. They spearhead any business developments and have oversight of the entire operations of the company.

Medical Representatives –

This is a highly qualified team with the prime responsibility of detailing product information to medical professionals. Team members are committed to keeping continuously abreast of the changing developments and trends within the pharmaceutical industry as well as on-going enhancement of their professional skills base.

Marketing/ Sales Representatives -

This team has responsibility for developing and maintaining relationships with the pharmacies. Team members develop and implement sales strategies and in-store product promotions for the entire range of products. The team is relationship and sales driven and is a closely knit and highly motivated department with many years of field experience. Delivery Team – The delivery team is considered to be a critical link in the company’s value chain and has earned a reputation for efficient, prompt and dependable service throughout the country.

Management Team –

As part of the effort towards Caribbean regional market expansion, the company has already selected and trained the team leaders with proper management skills, work habits and product knowledge that will allow for the further expansion that we envision. Administrative Team – This team is responsible for Accounting, Billings, Human Resources and all management of day to day operations, which are all key factors of a successful business.

Regulatory Affairs –

We work on ensuring that the latest and best quality medications and supplements are registered for sale here in Trinidad & Tobago and are readily available for our customers.

The Sales and Medical Representatives operational teams meet twice weekly, separately. Each month they combine, along with the Core Management team to meet as a single unit to report on sales, share tactical information and give any other relevant field updates.
